It's that time of the year again – it’s mnemonic’s annual Christmas breakfast seminar!

We are joined by Check Point, who will demonstrate how you can easily manage security and compliance of your public cloud environments at any scale across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

From mnemonic we will hear about designing cloud controls in Azure Iaas with direct examples from Elkjøp, and how to use Terraform for automatic provisioning of firewall deployment in Azure.

Control and compliance across the cloud environment

When you first adopt public cloud platforms, it may seem easy to get started. However, as soon as these environments scale up, you are likely to lose visibility and control. The need for insight across the various clouds arises in order to:

Infrastructure security in Azure: Elkjøp paves the way

Azure Cloud is constantly changing and new possibilities arise. How can we combine classic infrastructure security and cloud services to secure our cloud infrastructure better?

In this presentation, Kristoffer will walk us through Elkjøp's cloud migration process from a security perspective, highlighting Checkpoint and F5 products combined with new Azure features to increase security and visibility in Azure.

Moving toward the immutable with Infrastructure as Code and Terraform

Immutable infrastructure is a key feature when the end goal is designing for predictability, scalability and automated recovery. However, most cloud deployments start with a “point and click” adventure in the management WebUI, which can be overwhelming and hard to document. Changing any settings may have dependencies that are difficult to predict and often are limited or read-only after creation. Infrastructure as Code, which principle is to both document and orchestrate in one go, will reduce time spent on deployment tasks from hours to minutes.

The goal of this presentation is to give an introduction to the larger topic of how to implement governance and perimeter security with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, to secure the basic foundation of any cloud development.
